Below is Dan Kildee’s statement regarding the United States Supreme Court ruling to uphold the Affordable Care Act.

 

“Today’s Supreme Court decision to uphold the Affordable Care Act is a victory for all Americans, and affirms that in this country we will put people first when it comes to health care – not insurance companies.

This decision ensures that middle-class families and small businesses will have a fair say in the health insurance industry, and protects our most vulnerable from being denied affordable care. It confirms that insurance companies are not in control of a patient’s health, and will lower costs across the board. The Affordable Care Act significantly raises our standards of health care and will provide tangible benefits to nearly all Americans.”
