Kildee’s focus on putting Michigan back to work and making government work for people again cited as reasons for the endorsement.

The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Council 25 (AFSCME) has endorsed Dan Kildee for Michigan’s 5^th Congressional District, which encompasses all of Genesee, Bay, Iosco and Arenac Counties, part of Saginaw County – including the City of Saginaw – and part of Tuscola County.  With this latest endorsement, the two largest unions in the AFL-CIO – AFSCME and the UAW – are now officially part of the growing list of union support for Kildee.

“I am honored to have the support of the AFSCME and the thousands of men and women they represent across the 5^th Congressional district,” said Dan Kildee.  “I’m running for Congress because too many folks in Washington are fixated on scoring petty political points rather than working on what’s important.  I know that our number one priority should be putting people back to work.  I look forward to bringing my experience to Washington and making that happen.”
